Bingo Locations Though the game of bingo was invented by the Italians, however, an American toy salesman by the name of Edwin Lowe had laid the foundations and paved the way for what is now the game we play as bingo. But this game is not being played exactly the same throughout the world. The American type of bingo uses only 75 balls in the hopper. Majority of the European and Australian version of bingo is played with 90 bingo balls inside their hopper. The difference in the number of bingo balls carries a heavy weight as to how these two types are being played.
The 75 - Ball Bingo Game In the American version of bingo, there are 75 balls that are used, meaning there are also 75 corresponding numbers that will be announced throughout the game. These numbers are placed 15 balls in five columns, each number being called in a downward assembly. In line with this the bingo card with the 75 ball bingo game has five squares both across and down, totaling 25 spaces. In each column letters are being written in such format as B-I-N-G-O. Numbers that comprise the 24 spaces contain the numbers from 1 to 75. One square is left without any number and is called free.
The first player who was able to form a designated pattern usually in straight line, is declared the winner if he calls out "bingo".
The 90 Ball Bingo Game This type of bingo game is very much different from that which was previously discussed, as it uses90 balls of bingo. Also this type of bingo has a bingo card which contains three rows of nine columns. This kind of card obviously has two more numbers on them as compared to the American version. Added to this, players are required to form specific patterns which include one, two or three horizontal lines in order to win. The first player to form a horizontal line is declared the first winner, and the game continues until the second line and the third line were also won. Winner of the three line gets the largest prize among the group.
Another difference of the 90 bingo ball game is that its bingo ticket has no letters written on its top or bottom, unlike in the 75 ball bingo game.
